The Long Beach Nonprofit Partnership is providing a full-day conference devoted to the generational leadership transition now underway in our society. This one-day conference, “GenNext: Generation Shift and Your Organization,” will take place at The Pointe in the Pyramid, CSULB on Thursday, June 12 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nonprofit executive directors, staff and volunteers as well as other for-profit employers and employees are all encouraged to attend.
Participants will benefit from dynamic and interactive sessions throughout the day, including an opening session delivered by Mick Ukleja, Ph.D. and Chip Espinoza, president and executive vice president of Leadership TraQ, respectively.
This session will take an in-depth look at all generations in the workplace and help participants learn how to transform their organizations through leadership contributions from all levels of experience.
The opening session will make use of the Generational Rapport Inventory (GRI), which will help each participant assess personal areas of strength and weakness when it comes to communicating across the generations.
A special lunch session will feature Ukleja discussing his recently released book Who Are You And What Do You Want? A Journey for the Best of Your Life. Each full-fee participant will receive a copy of the book.
Ukleja will also be available to sign his book at the end of the conference.
There will be three concurrent afternoon sessions for participants to choose from “Fundraising in a Virtual World” will be presented by Nick Allen from Donordigital. “Recruiting for the Nonprofit Workforce” will be presented by Christina Winting, human resources for the City of Santa Monica.
An additional choice is a panel presentation titled “Bringing Younger Board Members and Volunteers to your Organization” that will feature Richard Diaz, executive director of the Riordan Volunteer Leadership Development Program with “next generation leaders” Chris Lewis, board member of the Boys and Girls Club Long Beach, and Josh Lowenthal, board president of Children Today.
Additional registrants from the same nonprofit may register at $80 per person. There is a “lunch only” option at $50 that includes a copy of Ukleja’s book.
A limited number of discounted registrations are available to full-time students. A continental-style breakfast, lunch and afternoon reception are included in the fee. Campus parking will be available at no charge.
