Joseph E. Pelzman, Sr. was born on November 26, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan, at home. He went to Wilson High School in Detroit and later attended an electrical trade school for four years. He received his Journeyman Electrician Card then furthered his education by going to school to become a master electrician and to learning to splice cable. He moved to Long Beach in 1996 from Garden City, Michigan. He was initiated into Bellflower-Long Beach Lodge No. 888 B.P.O. Elks on January 24, 2007, where he has done electrical work. He is also a member of the Breakfast Committee, Auditing Committee and the House Committee. He attends most meetings, has been on a few Laughlin Trips with the Elks and will assist in any capacity when called upon. He is usually present at lodge functions and events. Pelzman is married with five children and four grandchildren.
