The City of Signal Hill and Signal Hill Disposal will help make the chore of fall cleaning a bit easier for residents. Free of charge during the week of October 20-25, residents will be able to set out bulky items at the curb for collection.
Bulky items include items that are too large or too heavy to set out on your regular trash collection day, such as: appliances, mattresses, miscellaneous household clutter. water heaters, furniture, brush and tree trimmings, wheelbarrows, lawnmowers, bicycles and curtain rods.
“We are pleased to provide this free service to our residents,” said Signal Hill Mayor Mike Noll. “This is the second of two cleanups scheduled for 2008.”
To take advantage of the cleanup event, residents can simply place bulky items next to automated waste carts on regularly scheduled collection days. Residents living in apartment or condominium communities can take part in Cleanup Week by calling Signal Hill Disposal at (562) 597-0608 to schedule a special pick-up. Electronic or “E” waste (e.g., computer monitors, printers, cell phones), and household hazardous waste (household cleaners, automotive fluids/batteries, lawn and garden-care products) are not accepted during the cleanup week.
