Residents bundled up and gathered at Signal Hill City Hall as it became illuminated with the lights from a Christmas tree adorning the front lawn Wednesday night.
Before the lights sprang to life, community members were greeted with music from local caroling group, The Holiday Carolers, as they sang before the arrival of Santa from a Signal Hill Fire Department engine.
After Mayor Tina Hansen spoke to the gathered crowd of over 100, the switch was flipped and the tree was lit along with the radio tower atop the peak of the city on the hill making it Los Angeles county’s tallest tree by elevation.
