Lawrence A. Kramer has been named the Elk of the Month for May at the Long Beach/Bellflower Elks Lodge #888.
He moved to Long Beach in 1945 and was employed as a letter carrier at the post office through 1979. After retiring from the post office, he went to work in the Harbor Department until 1984 and then for the Long Beach Unified School District until 1990.
Initiated into the lodge on January 28, 1957, Kramer went on to play in the Elks band. He’s also served on the breakfast crew, helped fold The Chimes newsletter each month, and served on the Rolling 8s committee.
Kramer goes on the lodge’s Laughlin trips, attends most lodge meetings and participates in most Elks functions.
