On December 13, the Greater Long Beach Chapter (GLBC) of the Red Cross will host its 11th annual Holiday Project, a collaborative event between schools, community organizations, and businesses for a substantial toy drive.
After raising toys, high school Red Cross clubs and community volunteers host a holiday party to which hundreds of children from local community agencies, schools, and homeless shelters from underserved, low-income areas are invited to receive new toys, visit Santa Claus, and participate in arts, crafts, and entertainment.
This year’s toy drive began November 3 and will conclude Monday, December 8. Boxes are distributed to schools and community agencies to collect new and unwrapped toys for children 12 and younger.
