The Salvation Army of Long Beach is seeking volunteers (individuals or groups) and paid bell ringers to ring bells at kettle locations throughout the Long Beach area this holiday season. Contributions to the kettles help impact the lives of families in the Long Beach, Lakewood and Signal Hill areas.
In all, there are 34 dates the kettles will be out beginning Nov. 21 and, as in previous years, the Long Beach Salvation Army’s Kettle Committee is focusing on “12 Days of Christmas,” a program that lines up volunteers to serve as bell ringers at kettle locations.
All contributions remain in Long Beach to support the Christmas season, as well as The Salvation Army’s efforts during the entire year.
In addition, those interested may also sponsor/underwrite a kettle for just $75 a day, $150 for a weekend, $900 for the entire “12 Days of Christmas” or $2,325 for the entire kettle season.
For more information on becoming a bell ringer or volunteering for any other year-round activity, call The Salvation Army office at (562) 426-7637 or visit its offices in person at 455 E. Spring Street.
