The Wrigley Association will host a debate Monday, May 5 at 7 p.m. with candidates for the June 3 primary election for the 54th Assembly seat. Both the Democrat and Republican candidates are invited. The moderator for the forum will be Alan Tolkoff, longtime leader of the Wrigley Association.
This forum is a long-held tradition with the Wrigley Association, and, over the years, the association has had several successful and well attended forums for the mayoral, sixth and seventh district, state assembly and auditor races.
The candidates are seeking to replace Assemblywoman Betty Karnette, who is ineligible to return to the assembly because of term limits.
The winner of the June primary will advance to the November general election.
The 54th district includes Long Beach, Signal Hill, San Pedro, as well as four cities on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, Avalon, and portions of Los Angeles County.
The Wrigley Association is a neighborhood association dedicated to improving lives in the Wrigley area of Long Beach. The general meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Veteran’s Park Social Hall at 101 East 28th Street.
